PEEK Blade (Open Type): What Is It?

A spinal retraction accessory made of PEEK, designed for open – type retractors. With dual – tip designs (toothed/blunt) and modular sizes, it stabilizes soft tissues during minimally invasive spinal surgeries. Its role is to create a clear, protected surgical field while preserving tissue integrity.

Applications of PEEK Blade (Open Type)

Cervical Decompression
The blunt – tip Type III gently retracts cervical muscles/nerves during ACDF or foraminal decompression.
Lumbar Fusion (MIS – TLIF)
Type I’s toothed tip secures lumbar muscles, exposing disc spaces for cage insertion.
